Sarkar 3: Movie Review
The film has Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Ronit Roy and we definitely count them among actors who have great calibre but this isn’t Ram Gopal Varma’s best.
You will still miss the true RGV essence that films like Satya, Company and the first part of this trilogy had. Subhash Nagre (Amitabh Bachchan) is in full form despite his age. His dialogues and acting will leave your heart thumping.
Manoj Bajpayee’s character is something to watch out for. We have seen him in full form in many of his films but his character in Sarkar 3 is curiously interesting.Ronit Roy and Amit Sadh are also winning hearts. Jackie Shroff who is supposedly playing a villain has probably misunderstood his role and he will end up making you giggle and laugh.
The major flaw for the film happens to be the guessing game. Confused? Well, the audience is finding it easy to guess most of the twists pre-hand! That’s a BIG bummer!
Rajeev Masand is quite disappointed and said, “Sarkar 3 is an improvement on many of Varma’s recent films, which, quite frankly, were unwatchable, to say the least. Yet it’s steeped in familiarity and an overwhelming sense of repetition and pointlessness. Did we really need another Sarkar film? Sadly, the answer is no.”
Bollywood Hungama criticised the film by writing, “SARKAR 3 comes across as an old wine in a new bottle and offers nothing new to the audience. At the Box-Office, the movie will find it difficult to sustain and will end with a whimper.”
Shubhra Gupta of Indianexpress gave the film 1.5 stars out of 5 and complained about inefficient dialogue writing for Mr. Bachchan.
All in all the film is being criticised for its flaws but you can watch it for the stellar cast.
Till then hear this powerful Ganesh Aarti from the film in Big B’s magical voice:
