Irada: Movie Review
Don’t you start expecting way too much when a super hit duo returns back with another film? The Ishqiya and Dedh Ishqiya duo Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi were showered with praises for both these awesome films.
But, the duo totally failed to impress the audience this time. Released under the genre eco-thriller, the film is inspired by the 2000 Hollywood thriller namely Erin Brockovich. Debutant director Aparnaa Singh tried hitting an environmental subject but she failed in her overall attempt.
Naseeruddin Shah an army man is on a mission against the State Administration as well as a pharmaceutical giant after his daughter falls ill due to contaminated water supply. On his mission, he comes to know that this has happened with several others. Arshad Warsi has played the role of an Intelligence Officer namely Arjun Mishra. Both of them jointly work on this mission.
Sharad Kelkar and Divya Dutta are playing the villain. You will call them caricatures by the time the movie ends. Sagarika Ghatge is playing the role of a journalist who is on another mission of seeking revenge. Well, this subplot has only worsened the already vague film.
The end is all messy, and the central theme of the film is lost somewhere. There is nothing good about the film. The writing, execution as well as storytelling are faulty and the Ishqiya duo has failed to leave a mark on the audience this time.
If you are still planning to watch the film, go for the trailer first:
